Although teachers get a notification of late buses, so we can mark those students excused, in practice there are so many late to 1st period all the time that they just get marked tardy unexcused. There’s no consequence other than any teacher driven ones, and if your kid is usually on time, they don’t care about the one time late due to a bus. It’s not worth the teacher’s time to figure exactly who was on the bus that day.

In other words, just let it go.

It's always excused if the reason for the delay is on the school system.

Excused. Our kid had a similar magnet situation, I assume they are switching buses at Blair. It is excused if the MCPS bus is late.

Don't be rude.

OP, during Back to School Night our principal made a point of saying they don't count kids as tardy if their bus is late.

My kid takes two school buses to go to a magnet school. If he is late to school because of the buses, will he be excused or is it still tardy?
