HOLDs are where people stay in place. So, if you are in math and the bell rings but you are on a HOLD, you just stay there. Got another one just now. It's usually just somebody needing medical attention (or psychological) so far this year. But they send them at the drop of a hat. Kid says they don't last long.

Yes, it is oversharing. But parents complain about not being notified at every incident regardless of severity or how widespread the threat or risk. Apparently a lot of kids get "traumatized" at the sight of emergency personnel and parents have to be notified so they know their kid might be experiencing anxiety. So now we have to know every single time there's a situation - but not be told what the situation actually is.

Yes, we’ve gotten these too, though I don’t think this year yet.

It can be anything from a drug overdose to a fall, severe allergic reaction, injuries from a fight, a diabetic needing medical attention, etc. Sometimes the messages even specify it was a staff member.

There is standard APS wording for these messages. Most of them aren’t useful or necessary.

Agree. The ambulance one is the most annoying. If the person is dying then it's none of anyone's business. However, I hear that at least at the school with a whole lot of steps, people periodically don't know how to use them and take a tumble. Like several times a month, sometimes. I guess when you self select your kids, this is bound to happen.

Agree. The ambulance one is the most annoying. If the person is dying then it's none of anyone's business. However, I hear that at least at the school with a whole lot of steps, people periodically don't know how to use them and take a tumble. Like several times a month, sometimes. I guess when you self select your kids, this is bound to happen.
