The house and grounds look good? Then no, your neighbor will not have an impact on property values.

I had a neighbor in leafy green NW DC who used to get regular visits from a drug dealer. Houses in the 3-5M range. It had no impact on property values. Rising interest rates did.

Has the dog ever attacked anyone? Has the dog ever left the fence? If the answer is no to both then stop worrying about it.
I walked my leashed dog past a German shepherd on an electric fence this morning. I just walked on the other side of the street so as not to antagonize it or accidentally let my dog in its yard.

Regarding the yard signs, is there an HOA? If there is what are rules regarding political yard signs? If no HOA you’re probably out of luck.

I would check your local laws to see whether the fence for the dog actually complies with the law, and if not, report it to the police (and have your neighbors do the same).

My walking buddy refuses to even walk past the house, which takes us off our preferred route. Technically, the dog is restrained, but I don't actually trust that fence. I've also seen people with strollers and toddlers on trikes in the street because no one wants to be on the sidewalk there.

Buy out the pitchforks at your local hardware store and organize a march on the neighbor’s house.

The dog is the only thing that sounds immediately dangerous to the neighbors.

Not my immediate neighbor but there is a nutter a few streets away with multiple massive antennas and conspiracy signs everywhere. Doesn’t seem to affect home values as the two immediate houses both sold for $3M+.

The only thing you mentioned that would concern me is the dog. It's extremely rude and irresponsible to keep an aggressive dog un-fenced (electrical ones do not count).

It’s Gladys Kravitzes like you that bring down the neighborhood. Also 1 million is like nothing these days.

All that jumps out at me is the danger to life - animal or human - with his illegal shooting and aggressive dog. His political views don't matter: it's petty of you to complain about them, and you really can't put risk to life on the same level as "bringing down your property values".

So file charges with police if he does anything that crosses the line, because police needs an accumulation of evidence for this guy to stay on their radar.

I live in an affluent Northeast suburb with $1+ homes. Our subdivision is marred by a middle-aged guy who lives with his widowed mom. This guy has illegally shot and injured deer, has a DUI, has a huge, threatening dog that charges at passersby (hope that electric fence holds), and nasty right-wing signs all over his property and social media. His dad was a doctor. At least he keeps the house and grounds looking pristine. I wonder if he singlehandedly drives house hunters away.
