Actually, the Emory admissions officer said the reverse at the info session we attended. He said ED1 acceptance rates were much higher than ED2, which is just a point or two higher than RD there, because the pool is kids who aimed to high for ED1 and make the same mistake for ED2.

It isn’t a huge benefit at most schools the way ED1 is.

I think so. The past few years Emory and NYU have been the big ones for boarding schools.

Chicago is THE ED2 school for unhooked kids here, especially the BIG 3, right?

We are certainly going to apply ED2 if the ED1 school falls through.

Last year our kid considered ED2 to Vanderbilt. A peer did ED2 at Chicago.
