OP here -- I received a response from WMATA this afternoon that gives me some hope. It said there is an issue with programming the bus trackers for school trips. WMATA is working with the company that provides the technology and are hopeful it will be resolved by Sunday. Fingers crossed . . .

I know they can make it work on the D33, D34, and W45. My kid has taken all three before and until this week we always have been able to see one or two or all three of those bus lines tracking, so we can know which one actually is in service before they spent 10 minutes walking to the bus stop. This is not rocket science -- this is pretty standard GPS tech, and there's no reason (at least that WMATA has offered) that explains why it would not be working now.

OP here again. I appreciate everyone's help on this. This morning it was the same -- only the D31 had its tracker on. The D32, D33, D34, W45 all did not have their signals on. I sent yet another comment to WMATA. Appreciate anyone else sending one in too. If this happens again tomorrow, I'll be reaching out to our councilmember to ask for their assistance.

I'm the previously ignorant PP--thanks for the info! We live in MtP, so we're only familiar with the H2/H4 and their equivalents.

Sort of. You're correct that the H2 and H4 run a crosstown route along Porter Street NW which is somewhat similar but not the same route as the D32 which takes families from Mount Pleasant to Deal and JR.

The D31, D33, D34, and W45 run a different crosstown route along Military and Nebraska Avenue - they follow 16th Street and take families from Shepherd Park (D31) and Crestwood (D33, W45) and 16th Street Heights (D33, D34, W45)) to Deal and JR. WMATA does not run another regular bus route that is similar to these routes -- you would have to take two or three different buses (such as the S2 to the E4 to the M4) to get there otherwise.

This morning, none of the D31-34 or W45 buses were tracking online.

D33 and W45 don't- they run north to Military Rd and then back down to Nebraska.

WMATA don't care about safety is residents .

We waiting for too long already..it is a bus route for MacArthur from Tenley or AU .We need one bus and we have to take 3 buses to get there .It is insane.Why the city is taking forever to put one bus I also afraid all the riders with mental health problems riding. The same bus with the students.

OP here again -- the D33 bus did show but they still show no sign of tracking online. I plan on sending a comment about it to WMATA. If others could do the same, it would help make sure the problem gets fixed before tomorrow.
