And a "very strong " SAT isn't much, whatever that means ( just give the score).GPA could be meh. Basic ECs.

Caveat, none of those (American, NYU, BU) would be safeties for a high stats kid even if they didn't yield protect because their acceptance rates would still be too low. For safeties, look well over 50%.

I was going to ask about VT. Looking at Naviance is raised some concerns given the amount of blue and red in the upper R quandrant. Those kids weren’t rejected by they didn’t have the stats.
