People on DCUM will rip Longwood to shreds because it is not UVA but for a certain type of student, it is a really good match. Why? Very small class sizes. Professors willing to work with students and help them to be successful. Disability office has gone above and beyond to help ds navigate being in college. For the first time in a really long time, ds is feeling good about himself in academics.

That’s really wonderful!

My daughter struggled so much in HS even with the help of therapists, meds and AVID. 4 year school wasn’t a given and we are crossing everything hoping we made the right decision.

That said, she is a freshman at a small school in New England that is well known in the LD community for its supports for neurodiverse students. Not a school most people here would even consider - it’s mostly a regional college. That said, as long as she takes advantage of all the services and programs she (and we) loved scout the school, we feel she will blossom there.

+1. ok support for first kid at GMU. Great support for second kid at UVA

What’s the difference between okay support and great support?

And if we tell you names, the a**hole posters will come on here and disrespect the college, so what’s the point?

University of Vermont and a few others advertise their ADHD supports. Here’s a newsletter we got - https://mailchi.mp/mansfieldhall.org/college-coaching-for-digital-natives-the-benefits-of-a-holistic-approach?e=d818278776

I don’t know anything about it.

Yes, I saw the typo. Unfortunately, I don’t think there is a way to go back and edit after submitting.
