I would say that 95% of people I know who make it to 88 or so feel this way. Even those in good health have had enough. Only the narcissist that I know just push to stick around as long as humanly possible. It's sad, but I am certain that I do not want to live that long to feel that way. Trying to make the most of my late 50s now, and beyond, until it's just not worth it anymore. Then I will head to Sweden.

My MIL told us she regrets getting a pacemaker years ago, because dealing with Parkinson's has been so difficult and painful. She's lucid too, so she's had to watch her body deteriorate slowly and cause her grief.

Aging is so hard. Usually the alternative is worse, but there comes a point when it's not.
