Do not, under any circumstances, buy a 'Lifespan' treadmill.

A treadmill worth buying for home use, especially one that meets your needs, will costs a few thousand. There are so many junk ones out there.

You will need to spend thousands for a decent quality treadmill - there is so much junk out there, which will just end up being a giant waste of $ and space. We have family and close friends that have spent $$$ on home gym equipment and have ALL joked that after a year they rarely used it. That includes a few Peleton owners that swore they were going to use them regularly. They are like hot tubs... they sound great, and get a lot of use at first, then only get used infrequently after the initial allure wears off.

That are heavy and become a permanent part of your house so pick location carefully. We had to hire 123Junk to remove DH treadmill when it finally broke. He used it less than he expected, too.

Second vote for Sole. Buy a new one and let them deliver and assemble it. Your super athlete son will be fine with it.

I swear by all of my Sole equipment. They don't make flashy or advanced screens or programming so if you want a 40" screen and built in Netflix with 77 pre-programmed race courses, don't buy one. But their hardware is unassailable. My treadmill is a beast that just works. My Sole elliptical gets used 320+ days a year and we are going on 8 years. Hardware is warrantied for life. They've stood behind the equipment like champs.

Yes but only if you buy new, I was commenting on buying used from Facebook.

I would say make sure its wide enough. We used to have a cheap $300 one and it was ok but the tread was not as wide as a professional model and even though I'm short, I was always worried about it.

What? He's 6'1. I mentioned this because the cheap ones are not long/wide/fast enough.

I've had a True for around 20 years, never had a problem with it

Just join a gym. He can pick from like 5 styles of treadmills at St James, Lifetime or Onelife.
