I had strep for the first time this summer. It took me a solid 8-9 days to feel better. It was the sickest I’ve ever been.

Strep takes a full week for adults to recover from.

COVID is whipping through, and this strain is very contagious. You might have caught it or another virus on top of the strep, as a PP noted.

At this point it's possible that you've also caught a virus that the antibiotics won't help. I hope you are able to rest and feel better soon.

I caught strep on a cruise ship about 10 days ago. Went to dr. after 5 days with a lightly sore throat, fever and complete exhaustion. I just knew something was wrong.
Strep test was positive and she gave me amoxicillin. (Covid and flu negative)

I felt slightly better on Day 3 of amoxicillin but now on Day 5 I feel wiped out again. No I have not rested as much as I should but haven't done too much.

I am flying out tomorrow for a trip I cannot change and I'm dreading this.

I know it's 10 days of antibiotics so maybe I shouldn't worry. Can someone tell me if it's normal to still feel so sick? I don't think I've ever had it before but I'm told that once you are on meds, you get better fast.
