Agree it was bad but I had to see it to the very end.

How are these shows so bad? Discovery of Witches (have been on that thread) and now Mayfair Witches.

The lead females are so affected. Rowan talks slowly like a kindergartner that I guess is supposed to be what, grounded? modern day woman? It's so so annoying.

Lasher is ugly. Come ON casters. I read the books. Lasher is supposed to be hot. Instead we get Miss Dispesto's boyfriend Herbert from Moonlighting? No thank you.

Thoughts? Should I hang in there?

Bail! I watched discovery of witches because a friend loved the books but it was terrible. I watched Mayfair witches because I liked the actress from white lotus but it was also ridiculously bad. Just save the time and go watch Traitors from other countries or something.

Horrible show. Terrible acting. It reminds me of bad soap opera acting. I tried the entire first season but dropped it. It is terrible.

The fact that Lasher isn't hot proves they weren't even trying. What a waste of material that could have made such a cool adaptation. Harry Hamlin as Julian was the only good move. It was a great move actually.

Otherwise, total trash.

This also bothered me. The actress is ok in other stuff, but really bad in this show. Maybe these actors know how to break a sweat on the casting couch? The whole lot of them seem a better fit for a soap opera cast, not some Super Serious Prestige Cable Drama.

I am bummed because I really wanted to like it and agree it was terrible.

I quit watching about halfway through. It’s terrible. The writing, the casting, the acting. Pretty much everything.

It makes me sad because I loved the books so much that they were a large part of why I ended up going to law school in New Orleans.

So bad that they, to my recollection, don't even really follow the books. Same with the Interview with a Vampire remake - couldn't make it through the first episode.

I didn't think Discovery was bad, just kind of meh/no chemistry between Diana and Matthew. The books were great.

I hope they leave Cry To Heaven TF alone because the thought of them wrecking that book for me with a $h*t TV show is just too much to process. Maybe I just need to stop reading good books so I'm not so bothered when they do bad movies or television.

Yes to all this except for the bolded.
I'll see you in the book forum. Much better there!

It's awful and they change so many details. Lasher looks like a sleazy car salesman, it was hard to finish. I don't recommend wasting your time

I watched 2, maybe 3 episodes and realized I didn’t care so I stopped.
