You have to try on a huge range of sizes and different brands. I thought I was a 34B for literally decades, but I found recently that I am actually anywhere from a 32DD to a 34D depending on the brand.

VS has such a limited size range, I dont know why people recommend it. If you are spilling out of a 36C you likely do not fit in anything at VS.

Go get professionally fitted at Nordstrom or Trousseau.
Buy one bra you like and then shop the same bra on sale from elsewhere.

If you're fitting yourself, use the "a bra that fits" calculator and try a Chantelle C Jolie in that size, they are a full coverage style.

Thanks for links. Very interesting - last time I was professionally fitted, it was the "old" way.

At a recent bra fitting at a different place, they tried to squeeze me into a 30F. Because 30” was the measurement of my chest underneath. I couldn’t breathe. They said I’d get used to it. Two days later and I still couldn’t breathe.

So buy a single bra and try it out for a few days before investing in more in that size.

The rule is that for every two inches you go up in band size, you need to drop a cup size.

I'm done wearing regular bras day to day because of the spaghetti straps. There are sports bras that don't look like sports bras from under clothes.
I will never know how they expect C cup and up to be held up with two string.
Try VS, but bigger cup and/or band. Though I didn't agree with their measurements. I wanted wider band and smaller cup. They squeezed me into 36DD. I went right back 38D. I can't breathe in 36.

Use this calculator https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php and don't be surprised if it gives you a cup size that seems too large. A D cup is not actually big, and VS and other major retailers use outdated sizing methods.

Go to understance.com and figure out the size there. It is the most comprehensive explanation of fit I have ever seen, FAR better than the in person sizing I’ve had a stores like VS and Nordstrom. The bras I have ordered from them fit well and are of good quality.

If you’re spilling out of your bra, you’re wearing the wrong size. Go get fitted. There are a million bras that aren’t plunge types.

First I will say that you’re likely not a 36C.

My teen has been wearing Nike sports bras and the same bralettes we bought from Justice since she was in the 8th grade. She thought she was a A cup and had nothing to hold in.

when she was headed to college we decided to go “real” bra shopping. We went to VS and she tried on 34D or 36C and the latter fit better. To start, she bought 2 lightly lined full coverage bras.

So if she’s a 36C and got away with wearing a justice bralette, you are probably not

I'm a 36c. I'm so tired of the tops of my breasts spilling out of my bra. Every bra seems to be a plunge these days with lots of cleavage showing. I want a bra that covers my breasts.
