$500 on top, specifically for team travel (buses) to away games

Not surprising. They did this two years ago when Brave started. Said there would be team travel and then there wasn’t. More of the same nonsense. Thankfully last year I have to worry about this crap.

The other issue for some families is they counted on team travel so it was bait and switch if announced at time of signing.

Not everyone can take off and go to NC for the weekend.

Conference Travel
After careful consideration and consultation with several other clubs, both locally and regionally, the decision has been made to take the year off from team travel. We understand team travel can have many benefits, and we are committed to revisiting transportation options for the 25/26 season.

For the away weekends this fall, we encourage families to coordinate carpools or make other necessary arrangements to ensure all players can attend their games. If there is a circumstance where you believe we can help, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

oh snap… the clubs really did have a meeting in this? How is this legal

Like they went to a conference on pocketing/saving money together.

I was expecting a 400 dollar assessment for the Charlotte trip. The team fee is other things. Happy that I can fold my kid into my family logistics and only pay as we go for team dinner/carowinds

Id rather pay those team fees up front than have to venmo in 120 bucks or whatever each time we travel out of the area. I get grumpy about many things, but this is exactly what team fees are for. If it were to cover chartered busses, etc in addition to VEO, all of the above, it would have been much higher than $500.

That’s what I thought also, that would be a low fee if it covered bus and room for two three night out of town trips.
I was a team manager when my kid was younger, there’s always this parent. It seems an exhausting way to live, always assuming and checking if someone is cheating you. Most of the time they don’t try to start a full on revolt.

Did you really think all the money you pay is accounted for down to the penny? Even non-profit clubs are in it to make money, just look at LS/NVA.

As we all know as members of FVU soccer at registration a portion of our dues ($500 a player), went to conference travel expenses. The club has now announced that they will not be doing team travel this year. I emailed and kindly asked the club for either a credit or a refund for my child's portion. Their response?? Oh actually, the board defines away travel expenses as covering the cost of balls, veos, and any other gear the team may need for when we travel by plane.
SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM??
1. We travel by car or team bus.
2. They will be rewording the web site to reflect this mistake which completely contradicts their email they sent to us about no travel and stated nothing about the above claims for equipment.
3. No refunds will be made.
I do not know about the rest of you but for my players team alone that is 11k.......club wide 100k extra they are pocketing.
As a parent I am furious! This is absolutely unacceptable and downright criminal. I would urge other parents to bring this matter up at all age groups and teams.
If they are so hell bent on deceiving us and keeping the money the least they could is buy the coaches some new gear that is our actual club and not about of Brave junk.
