How do people have a $65 electric bill in the summer? AC not electric?
I have a 2,400 SQ ft house and summer electric bill is about $150, maybe $200.

On dual fuel systems you can set the temp where it switches between heat pump and furnace for heating.

We moved into an all-electric house with well water a few months ago. The windows are old and single-pane, house is 2400 square ft. The electric bill has been around $275-300 per month. We keep the AC at 74. The house has oil heat so that should be a fun revelation.

Thanks for creating this thread, it’s gonna motivate me to do something.
3500 sq ft 1970s house, probably poorly sealed, all lights are led, teenagers so we do a ton of laundry and run the dishwasher every other day. 1980s era air conditioner. We hit $900 last bill.

Wow. We peak at about $400/month in summe, and we ahve an 8,000 sqft house with 4 A/C units (zoned system). But it's relatively new with really good insulation and windows, and very efficient A/C units (variable speed)

^ forgot to mention: most of our electrical cost is the heating in the winter and our water heater (hound child went from daily bath to shower every other day, which has lowered our bill).

december: $125
I guess the difference is almost entirely AC?
house: 2 story + finished basement
electric: AC, (mostly LED) lights, TV/computers,
non-electric: gas: heat, water heat, oven, range.
gas bill is $25 in summer and $140 in january.
i guess it's $100 for heat in winter and $100 for cool in summer.
