When I return to my native Paris, I need to remember to turn my head (not just casually flick an eyeball at my side mirrors) at every lane change, because bikes and scooters whizz by on the lane markings and you could kill a dozen in one day if you don't watch out.
And this is nothing compared to scooters in India or Vietnam.
Ride one at your peril, OP.
I’m really not than concerned about killing someone on a scooter, because if it happened, it would undoubtedly be because of negligence on their part and doing super risky, crazy illegal stuff. So I’m not going to lose any sleep if I kill one of them. I have enough responsibilities in my life as it is without accepting the added burden of keeping idiots alive by protecting them from the consequences of their actions.
Better have a dashcam to prove your version of events....

But you will also lose money, and possibly your liberty. I'm sure you care about that.

Obviously not great for heavy grocery runs but a super practical option for just about everything else. And so much compared to being stuck in a steel box!
