Doubt it will cut Indy in half, as they will pull from Champe, LR and Freedom too I assume. I don’t think boundaries or even a name has been assigned.

That high school is going to open in ‘28 from what was first released.

While Indy needs to prove it on the field, they just have more and lost less than Riverside this past year. Should be much closer than in the past.

Freedom was heavy in talent in the 24 class. I expect them to take a step back this year.

1) Langley (Still have Talent from 2024)
2) Robinson (It's Robinson, they are always good)
WC: Madison (Well Coached, tons of youth Talent at JV)

5a
1) Indy (They graduated 2 players, and their best players are 2026), This is their last year in 5A, before going 6A in 2026.
2) Riverside (Always Good)
WC: Briar Woods (Talented, youth needs to play a big role this Spring)

4a
1) Loudoun County
2) Broad Run
WC: Woodgrove

Why do you believe Independence will be changing to 6a in the 25/26 year? Seeing VHSL just adjusted last year- Champe, Woodgrove among others and those adjustments are THROUGH the 26/27 year, why would Indy be changing for 25/26?

As an outsiders perspective, the 25s at Indy are better players than the 26s. However I am going to guess you are an Indy dad with a 26 there!

Are they not also opening a new HS that will cut the population of Indy in half? The new HS is close and should be ready so if they are 6A it will only be for one year. Until proven otherwise, I cannot see putting Indy above Riverside. It could happen but until it does those two should be competing for best of Loudoun this year. Is Freedom going to be up or down this year?

I'm also expecting big things from Herndon, they returned most of their roster from last season and got their coach back from two years ago. I don't expect them to win the district but top teams should be on upset alert when playing them especially teams like McLean to have a lot to recover from losing last year.

Looking specifically at the Liberty district it will be hard to tell who will be hurt the most due to graduation but one thing is for sure each team will be down from last year. Yorktown graduated the most seniors including their top scorer in program history, goalie, fogo, 3 of their 4 starting poles, and 4 - 5 mids. McLean also had a big senior class including their top scorer, 3 of their 4 starting poles, both goalies, fogo, and arguably the best d mid in the state. Langley had the smallest group of seniors but their impact will definitely be felt. They lose their top scorer in program history as well as another 1st team all district attackmen, their top offensive midfielder, 1 starting pole, and their d mid that pulled most teams best offensive player. The argument for Langley is clear they return the most proven starters. That being said I think it's a toss up between them and Yorktown with McLean on the outside looking in with the potential to upset either on the right night.

Last season Yorktown fielded arguably the best JV in the state outside of Riverside and Freedom. This group is packed with the younger siblings of proven players from the past. The offense will be led on offense by #37 Nate Randles (70 points 24') and Eli Pilch (51 points 24'). Logan Kaetzel and Mikey Cowan Should provide some depth. The defense will be led by 2nd team all district #2 Evan Beeman to lead the way. Mitchell Fergueson Owen Lefton and PJ Cooper should all be in the mix to fill in the remaining spots. Goalie and Midfield will be the biggest question marks moving forward. The goalie battle will be between Senior Gabe Edmeades and the lefty Sophomore Shane Campbell.

Unlike Yorktown who will be looking to a lot of new faces to carry the torch Langley will lean on a deep group of returners to lead the way. Langley reminds me a lot of 2024 McLean. Strong midfield, defense, and goalie. Their midfield should be this teams deepest unit led by #7 Cole Samburg (1st team all district fogo) who is probably the second best overall mid in the district. He will be joined by #6 Kevin Mahoney (Second Team All District) #12 Wilson Buttz (Second Team All District) and #5 Ethan Cash. They also return 4 senior poles including starters #4 Brigg Carton (1st Team All District)#1 Owen Slamowitz #24 Matt Chen and #16 Brendan Oakes. At Goalie Langley returns 2 year starter #30 Logan Schwartz and picks up One of the top players in the freshman class Luke Milone. Even with this a lot of Langley's success or failure will fall on the shoulders of #8 Jack Milone (2nd team all district) and Ellis Farah on attack. While Milone has proven to be a true scoring threat in big games the question is who will fill the other spot. Outside of the Yorktown game Langley's JV put together a good season but the offense was not their strength.

Don't Sleep on McLean... We get it. The Highlanders like the Saxons return a lot of players that saw a decent amount of action last year. Starting with hands down the best player in the district in midfielder #3 Max Mullen (73 Points). They also return fellow midfielder #4 Landon Moore (20 Points). Look for #19 Christian McNeil (26 Points) and #25 Ethan Jones (14 Points) to have a break out year offensively. #15 Gaulder Maul (7 Points) and Griffin Ferris should be in the mix as well. McLean's biggest question mark is can they replace what was one of the most dominate defenses in the state last year. While this years unit may not have experience on their side they will once again have benefit for size and athletic ability. #2 Thomas Terminella and D Mid #7 Levi Stockwell are the only players that saw significant time last year. #24 Michael Bablitis #77 Jack Schomer and #23 Jake Bell are most likely the front runners to round out this defense. Samuel Brown did a good job on JV last year and will most likely fight for the starting roll this year. There's a good chance McLean is going to need to seriously slow games down this year if they plan to replicate last years region finals run.

Nice write up, any other district experts?

Looks like Robinson grad about 1/3 the roster and 2/3 goalies.

Should do well

Looking forward to some fall ball! club, VEL, etc been a few months!
I hear the Oakton tourney is back this year?

Personally I see some changes coming to the top tier of 5 and 6. At 4, can’t say for sure! The slithers team seem to be a step ahead for 4 right now
