Is it worth it? I'm a 59 year old female with a desk job, I run or bike 3X a week and have very tight piriformis, hamstrings, calves, hips, etc.

Please share the name of the place, my neck and shoulders, hips are tight. Tightness everywhere, really. Thank you in advance.

Agree. Yin yoga a few times a week will do the same thing.

Some of the places just stretch you out which is fine but they are not really trained in therapy. Check out places where people have had fascia stretching training. YouTube videos are better than nothing but on your own you can’t do what the experts can do.

Interesting. There is one near me but I was afraid they would injure me.

Have you been to one? It’s not just stretching by yourself. You have a person stretching you, assisting your body in ways you can’t do on your own. Not saying whether it’s worth it or not as I haven’t done it (I’d like to!), but it’s not like a thing for people who don’t know how to stretch!

OP here. What was most remarkable is that I felt for a moment like crying at the end of the session. It's like the tension in my body is being released. It was...unusual.

I had that once with fascia work. I did cry pretty hard but I wasn't sad. It was so weird.

It's a neuromuscular reflex. Don't feel bad. It's natural.

If you like it, you should budget for it and go for it! You absolutely can't do it yourself. I get stretched out by a personal trainer sometimes for specific things and while I personally hate it, it works!

There a lots of these place in Asia. Does yours do massages as well? Just be mindful to communicate if you think they're pushing too much.

I did an intro stretch session today for 50 minutes and I think it might really help me. It's very expensive though - more than $2 per minute.

Is it worth it? I'm a 59 year old female with a desk job, I run or bike 3X a week and have very tight piriformis, hamstrings, calves, hips, etc.
