You could say the same about basketball, but I think basketball parents are more realistic about where their kids stand. 8th graders who play on pay for play AAU teams know they are on pay for play teams. That same awareness seems to be lacking with volleyball parents

Boys volleyball has been adopted as a varsity high school sport in Fairfax County Public Schools as of fall 2024!
Now you will have parents from girls volleyball team chimed in and complain about the lack of gym space.
And they'll be justified. They already competed for space with boys basketball team work outs, not they lose to boys volleyball too.

This. In a couple of months, there will be basketball posts. Softball will pick up in spring. When summer approaches swim posts will spike

I just replied to a volleyball post on a different thread. It is like anything else - tis the season. People are gearing up for club tryouts, which happen at the end of Oct/early Nov. Brace yourself for many threads in the next two months comparing teams, strategizing how to be seen and then the drama of tryouts because of supply and demand. It will calm down in a few months and another sport will have its turn.
