At our MS, the earliest lunch is 10.58.

How do you know which lunch your kid has?

I had this time in HS. It was awful. I was starving by the time school ended, and we weren't allowed to have food in class either.

My public school has 5 lunch periods for different grades and schools so it spans from 9:45-1:40. It’s a space issue when schools have a lot of students.

Our eighth graders have lunch at 9:45. That’s the earliest lunch. Another grade is 11:20, another 12:55.

It was like that when I was in middle school but then again my school started at 7:15 and got out at 2:15 so early lunch wasn’t that bad.

Yeah my elementary kids have lunch at 10:20. It’s insanely early. We’ve been eating lunch at 1pm all summer. I wish I’d known earlier and I could have adjusted that a bit. His teacher encourages a fruit or a vegetable as the snack and his after school care doesn’t allow food from home. I’m hoping he chows down at 10:20 so he can make it until 6pm dinner.

My ES kid had lunch at 1015 in mcps. So this seems normal to me.
Be prepared for them to be starving after school. We have dinner at 345/4 for this reason but sports practice is from 6-7 twice a week. Then a snack at 730.

Early lunch has always been a thing. And yes, it sucks.

We don’t live in Montgomery county but my kids lunch is the opposer and very late. Every teacher let’s him have a snack or something to eat if needed before then.

I had lunch at my hs at 10:40 am. It did feel early, but kids get out of school before COB hours so they can have a snack after school. My hs had 2000 students—like a pp pointed out, this happens when you have to get that many students through lunch.

Probably, they have to get 1500-2000 students through lunch.

If I'm reading my 6th grader's schedule correctly, she has lunch at 10:17 am - is that right?! That seems absurdly early to me.
