I once had a former landlord call me about 10 times while I was in a meeting. We haven’t spoken for 5 years, and he simply called because he just wanted to chat…

This is true. But is was the risk I put myself and my roommates in by being too friendly at the onset.

I got a phone call like that once. Extremely upsetting and horrifying. Later it was determined the person had developed late-onset schizophrenia.

Someone I haven't spoken to for 3 years (I dropped out of an activity) randomly called me at 4:37am. I picked up because it was an unknown VA number. I don't have a local number, so my spam calls come from non-DC region area codes. It was a somewhat accusatory tone, asking if I was causing their current problems. I said no, hung up, and blocked him. This person knows where I live. Sigh. It threw my whole day off.
