Wow I am shocked! I stopped cutting my kids grapes by age three.

Anxiety seems to be a bigger health threat than grapes based on this thread!

I would not send grapes for school lunch. Kids are laughing and talking and eating quickly at school. All choking risks. Just pick a different fruit.

Reminding him in the morning when you hand him his lunch would do zero good when he’s actually eating several hours later.

I cut my 12yo’s too, and cherry tomatoes. Not sure why, habit I guess, and I think it just looks nicer on the plate, more appetizing..

I cut them for my 8 and 6 year old. I feel like they get distracted at school.

At home, I make them sit and eat.

I would cut them, grapes make me nervous. Kids can choke easily.

It's fine to cut them. Or you could reinforce the habit of biting each grape in half with his teeth at home for a few weeks first.

Yeah, you need to stop. Put down the knife.

Kids get distracted and excited in the lunch room. Just cut them or send something else. No one will make fun of your kid for having cut grapes.

I cut my 15 year olds grapes still as habit.

Just remind him when you hand him his lunch.

So just send other fruit for lunch and give him grapes at home.

Home, he still bites them in half. School setting he’s so far been the kid who struggles with keeping focused and paying attention including in the lunch hall. Even tho he’s just turned 6, I have some small part of me nervous about how he will eat grapes at school (tossing them in his mouth, choking, etc). Could just be my anxiety but I figure I would crowd source.
