Op here. I haven’t worn E in years. I do wear lots of lily though to the beach and pool.

I will just wear a simple black or gray dress and call it a day.

Wow, I was going to say definitely not A, it would be too try hard. Just wear one of your dresses. It's summer, it's hot, a casual dress is perfect.

I think you'd be fine in A or D and I'd probably choose D.

Depends on the school. Do the students wear uniforms or have a dress code? That can often be a guide to how formal parents dress at events. IMO, you can go wrong with business casual.

No athleisure. Otherwise wear what makes you feel comfortable and good! --you'll see women in all of your choices. I have kids at both of the Cathedral high schools and have been to about 50 parent social events.

Men should always wear a jacket/blazer.

Def not B or C. I'm leaning towards D or E. Think of it as a weekday dinner with girlfriends. Sort of like jeans with a cute top, but you don't sound like a jeans person so more like pants with a cute top.

But honestly, more important is that you are friendly, conversational, and interested. That's all it takes. Just be yourself and open.

This is a meet and greet for parents on a weekday evening.

What should I wear?

A. Business casual dress (theory)
B. Floral and colorful (lily pulitzer/zimmerman)
C. Black cocktail dress (Alice Olivia)
D. Fitted top with a skirt or nice shorts
E. Button down with leggings and heels

If it matters, I don’t work so I will be coming from home, not work. I mostly wear athleisure and dresses. I do have a closet full of many dresses. I don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard for a meet and greet.
