I’ve had my A4 for 11 years and outside of basic maintenance to replace standard belts, brakes, tires, I haven’t had any issues. It’s a manual with great pickup and handling. My last car was an Acura and I’ve enjoyed the Audi more. I’d get a new one but don’t want to pay the car tax!

I have had a Q7 for 5 years and have no problems but I also hate the media interface and can’t figure out Bluetooth for music (it works for calls). I think they’ve updated the system. I would consider another Audi for my next car.

I’ve driven Audis since 2008 and haven’t had problems. I kept my first one for 10 years and started having minor problems towards the end. I currently have a hybrid. No issues. Love the way it drives and nice interior. Other than regular service, wear and tear service and recalls, I’ve never had to have major work done. The only complaint is the MMI (multi-media interface) can be confusing. I still haven’t totally figured it out after driving Audis for 16 years.

And no one ever takes my advice, but I know enough about this stuff to call myself an expert and the way to go is a Volkswagen. Same engines, factories, builds, and great cars but what can I say? It doesn’t have the same brand appeal. Every guy out there who owns a Porsche or vintage Aston Martin or whatever. Their spouse? They drive a Volkswagen.

Great to drive, wonderful interiors, love mine, but it is finicky and has minor electrical gremlins. Not at all rock solid reliable as the Hondas I used to drive.

I had one an a long time ago. Loved it. Kept it for many years. Superb handling.

BUT, as PP’s have observed, “something” always needed tending to. Now, the dealer may have oversold me, but there were things that seemed crazy, like you couldn’t turn brake rotors but had to replace them, and wheels that got bent by potholes other cars take without incident. So expensive to maintain, as you’ve described the BMW.

The people I know who drive Audis are the kinds of people who like to brag about all the things they need to do to keep their Audis running. If you want a low maintenance car, avoid. If you want to tell everyone how you were in the shop again for some arcane reason X, Y, or Z, get one.

We are thinking of buying an Audi - A5 model. Does anyone have experience with Audis? Any pros or cons? We have owned a BMW, GMC Acadia, Subaru Outback, and Nissan Altima. Of those, we had the worst experience with the BMW. It drove beautifully but was the most unreliable, and of course, costly to fix.
