My parent died late last year of Covid that someone gave him dining at the same table. Why is this a surprise.

It's still a top 10 cause of death, outpacing the flu and rsv.

I saw the obituary today. The man was born in 1939 so, yes, old now. But the obit explicitly said died of breathing complications from Covid.

I was surprised to see that cause in an obituary in 2024.
