This is really horrible and hurtful. I can’t imagine treating my H like that.

Can you make an argument that the bedroom is for sleeping and quiet activities only (reading) -- except for shared activities -- so he should do his guitar stuff in another room? I play an instrument too and do so in the basement so I can play at night without disturbing DH and kids.

Someone must have told him they think that’s cool.

Good luck.

It’s also really cool at 6pm when the baby is crawling around, the house is a mess, and everyone’s hungry.
Just go disappear, strum the guitar and sing for an hour like you’re a single hippie on the beach avoiding reality.

Put on headphones and listen to other music or a podcast.

It’s awesome he has a hobby way to relax that isn’t screen time.

I would have never dated him in first place. Send him to the basement or shed.

Ask him this question, “Do you know why they sing that song?”
“No, tell me why.”

My dad used to play guitar and sing songs at night to relax, and he didn’t have a great voice. He died unexpectedly a few years ago and I wish I could hear him sing again. Try to focus on what you have OP.

Most people who play guitar, piano, sing whatever, have a designated other place to do it so it doesn't bother the other people in the house.

It is not fair that he commandeers the bedroom with "noise" of any kind. A bedroom is for relaxing. Tell him to go to the basement and set up a music room.

Now, he might just stay there, but???

Divorce him.

Eargasms are lovely earplugs that reduce volume substantially but allow enough sound that you can hear and react if someone speaks to you and bonus they’re clear so hard for DH to yell you’re wearing earplugs to drown him out.

You'll need to post a video of him doing this to get any meaningful feedback.

Dh likes to relax in our room by playing guitar and singing. I don't mind the guitar, but the singing really gets on my nerves. He is not a great singer.
