Tides Inn, Inn at Woodloch
my family had a wonderful experience at Omni Homestead. Found the rooms very comfortable, enjoyed all the amenities and the spa was great. I would not hesitate to go back.

You can fly to Charleston and stay at The Sanctuary (oceanfront, excellent golf, and foodie restaurants—especially in Charleston).

The Greenbrier might be a good fit. I think it is a slightly shorter drive as well.

I think you'll be disappointed with the Omni and Nemacolin. I haven't been to Salamander but agree you should investigate it.

If you want legitimately great food, the Inn at Little Washington is really your only choice.

Want to go luxuriate and relax for my birthday in a few months: looking for a property with great food, an excellent spa, and bonus points for a golf course. Do not want to have to go anywhere else. Can spend a few thousand for the weekend but really, really do not want to feel like the money is wasted: I’m looking for excellent service.
