Yes I would go to the basement for a warning.

Warning means *there are tornados forming in your area.* Watch means the conditions for tornados exist. Very different and that upgrade should be treated seriously.

Tell your DH to STFU. Being dismissive of tornado risk is stupid.

Depends on the weather outside. Sometimes I go outside to look for it. That's why tornados are night are no fun.

No... the tornado watch is for the entire region. Supercells are embedded within the storm as it moves through our region tonight and tomorrow. Right now they're south of the DC area, but since the storm is moving north, the risk is there for all of us during the night.

If you're in the McLean/Arlington/Annandale/Seven Corners area watch out around 11:30-12:15. One of the bands will be coming through and radar looks messy for you then.

What if there is an alert?

Is anyone in an evacuation scenario?

Evacuation?! You don't evac in a tornado! Warrenton is currently under a warning meaning SHELTER IN PLACE- until 8;45.

Right. Stay home, stay put. Turn off phone and go to sleep.

No. Turn on phone and go to lowest/most interior room if warning comes.

Several tornado warnings and sightings in Virginia as the storm tracks north.
Make sure you can receive tornado alerts on your phone during the night.
Charge your cell phones.
