Prepping for iready means that your child will not get the supports s/he needs if they are behind on something. I guarantee your child does not belong in AAP if you have to ask this question. You're one of THOSE mommies. The worst kind

You’re focus should be on the CogAT assuming they already took the NNAT.

IReady will not be used for reading in grades 1-3 as we have a new screener as part of the Virginia Literacy Act.

There's no way to really prep for it but yes Iready scores are on there but it's given like 4x a year

I thought teachers use iready as one of the ways to identify gaps that need to be taught. If you prep, are they really learning...or just memorizing how to take a test? How does that help anybody?

If your kid is not in 2nd grade and you don't care about AAP, don't prep i-Ready. Let them fail and then help/prep them for Winter and Spring tests.

I once found some "Iready prep" questions online and I asked my kids and they said it was nothing like the test.

Um, what? No. There is no need to prep your child for iready. That's stupid.

Not the OP but i-Ready is now a part of the LIV application so expect prep for the iReady, just like people prep for the NAAT and CoGAT.

I've checked the i-Ready website but couldn’t find any practice sheets or detailed information about the subject matter. If anyone has suggestions or resources, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!

Teacher here. The point of IReady is to see where your kid is. No prepping is needed.
