The lack of materials and a stream for the spouse who couldn't come is disappointing, but so be it.
Seriously, this is way too late for there to be a champs meet for age group swimmers. Some go back to school as early as next week or the week after, and the club season starts up again right after Labor Day. There are a lot of qualified swimmers from PVS who chose not to go.
Almost none of top PV age groupers didn't go.
Not true. I’m going to use 11-12 girls as an example. NCAP had 7 girls qualify, and only 2 went. RMSC had 9 girls qualify and only 4 went. Both Machine girls that qualified went. 1/2 ASA qualified girls went. OCCS had 4 girls qualify and only 1 went.
Sorry, NCAP had 8 qualifiers and only 4 went. When you look overall at the numbers in each event it’s obvious that lots of people elected to skip the meet. There were 43 girls total with the LC QT for the 100 free and only 26 swimmers entered the event. Some of those 26 used SC times, and some were able to swim it without a QT because each LSC was allowed 2 entries per event so if they only had 1 swimmer with a QT in an event they could still have another swimmer compete in that event without the QT.
Not sure what PVS uses as the standard for making the team as each LSC is different, but in VSI where we are each swimmer must have at least 3 individual cuts in order to qualify. There are no bonus events so I wouldn’t have let my child go if they didn’t have a full slate of 8 qualified events. So saying they “qualified” in a particular event doesn’t necessarily mean they could have been on the team and swam a full slate of events and just chose not to go.
For PVS anyone could go, there was no team application.
But no one would travel for a meet to swim one event. They have to be qualified in each event they swim.

It’s on meet mobile, 2024 EZ LC Age Group Championship.
