Wake, Lehigh and USD aren’t any smaller than Yale or Harvard…or aren’t smaller by much.

Rose and Franklin are very small…smaller than most SLACs…will certainly offer a ton in engineering since that is their focus.

So what? 5-6,000. Thanks for your input though

Agreed. Toured Olin. Thought they have a very cool program. Only downside is it's just engineering, so need to be sure this is what you want. Olin has a consortium with Wellesley(male included for classes), Babson, and Brandeis.

Also Haverford and Bryn Mawr have a 4+1 Masters with Penn

Some kids with anxiety do best at smaller schools where they are known. Other kids with anxiety do best at larger schools where they can be more anonymous. What does your child want?

If DC is a DD, Smith has an excellent engineering program. And she can take other classes at Amherst.

Does small school always = better for anxiety? I would think there would be many different factors…and honestly that the competitiveness of the school no matter how large would be a factor.

We know a kid majoring in engineering at Swarthmore, but it is some odd general engineering degree. Kid says they will definitely try to take engineering classes at Penn (which is free through a consortium).

OMG not for a student with anxiety. Never.

Even the best SLACs tend to be weak in engineering. Maybe look at Harvey Mudd. Or consider a smaller university like Rice.
