As a practical matter, I recommend you start scanning your folders so they'll be in your password-protected computer and no one can get to them. She shouldn't have done that, but it's good to have a backup. I would be pissed. I do understand sometimes needing something from someone's office but one should make a copy or put it back, not destroy them. I would mention how this hurts the business: it is disruptive, hinders your work, and could impact record keeping requirements. It is also rude and invasive.

Smart.

I want access to the missing documents, and I want her to stop touching my materials.

If they are your materials, can’t you lock them in your filing cabinet/drawer?

I have a coworker who has done some weird things lately, including going through two of my folders and throwing out some of my documents.

Last week, I found that some things I needed were missing. I emailed her and she was able to get me the document that she had kept in her office. I don’t understand why she removed it from my folder. I’m the one who uses it, not her.

I felt angry about the situation and asked my boss to meet with me about it. Our meeting is tomorrow. I am very anxious about it. Any suggestions?
