This is not true.

OP, if you’ve been offered spots at both clubs then go with whichever one is easiest for you to get to multiple days a week. The cost difference may also be a consideration for you, but make sure you understand what is and isn’t included. DC Wave is much cheaper than any other clubs in the area, which is part of why it runs such long waitlists when other clubs still have spots even this late.

Machine’s coaches are so so good at their Virginia sites.

I think it’s harder to be a top swimmer in DC Wave. Machine has a lot more practice flexibility and breadth.

This! Do you already have a DC Wave spot for the coming season? If not, you are most likely out of luck due to what the PP states.

Machine and DC Wave locations are not close to each other. Is one near school and the other near home, or are you willing to do that much driving?

If his goal is to stay in shape for summer swim and improve his summer times then either is fine. From a USA swimming perspective, Machine is the much stronger team, but if he’s not out to be the age group champ in 200 butterfly or win the IMX meet, that really doesn’t matter

Machine no question

Which do you recommend? Our DS is 9 and loves summer league. During school year plays other sports too, so interested in developmental programs. BC he loves summer league interested in instruction and program that has good community.
