Worst camera people of the Olympics. I couldn’t watch the first few seconds of each athlete because the camera bounced with them. 🤢

My close friend is a lawyer in Paris and she is in charge of providing accommodations for the team as a volunteer. She says it is petrifying at what these athletes do. I qualified for the Olympic Festival in 1981 and spent my free time watching boxing. Simply frightening watching it up close.

+1 I’ve done trampoline a bit and the skill is being able to land safely so that you can keep your bounce and go up again. Being able to string moves together is extra hard. So the ones who get more moves in sequence will get better scores obviously.

You should look up double mini trampoline. It is one of three events in the sport of Tumbling & Trampoline, but it is not an Olympic Sport, as Trampoline is.

Anyone else watching. The tricks they do in the air are amazing and obviously you have to have really amazing aerial awareness and reflexes to do this well.

But it's very anticlimactic because often the athletes get too close to the edge of the trampoline and either get bailed out by their coach with that mat or they get stalled on the edge of the trampoline and lose their bounce. And then the routine is just over and they only get evaluated based on what they finished -- no getting back on. Except apparently if they do that before they get start doing tricks. But it just feels a little random and not based on skill. I didn't get it. The actual tricks are amazing and clearly require a lot of skill but it seems really easy for someone to go out without really being able to do anything because of how you have to do a routine start to finish. I wonder if they considered doing it so it's more like vault and an athlete just throws a single huge trick and is scored on their execution of that. It that would make it more fun to watch.
