Don't use dark roasts in a superautomatic machine like a Jura. The oils on such beans will eventually gum up the works, literally, so should be avoided. It is possible to periodically clean the grinder by using a product called Grindz, but that requirement can be avoided if you limit yourself to less oily medium or to light roasts; use other brewing methods when you want a dark roast, e.g., Aeropress or a SCA-certified brewer.

I have enjoyed whole beans from Black Rifle Coffee, Electric City Roasting, and others, but find the most economical way to purchase whole beans is through Costco. While their in-warehouse selection is limited, they offer many more options on-line.

If you buy largers bags of whole beans, you might like to use a vacuum-sealing storage container, to keep the beans fresh longer. I use containers made by Airscape, available in different sizes from amazon.

Coffee is fine for a couple weeks if stored properly.

In the freezer is not proper. PSA

Yes, and most people keep it for a year+. Gross.

My favorite is Mayorga. I have liked all of their varieties so far.

This is like asking for the name of the best beer or wine.
