Why would they talk about a 4th/5th grade program at a 3rd grade BTSN? Back to School Night is for meeting the teacher and setting expectations for the year.

Funny thing, though: MCPS posted an entire page on their website about this “secretive” program. It even includes the timeline for this year’s selection process, which won’t begin until January.

Take a chill pill. You'll get a letter and an email. 3rd grade comes before 4th grade, believe it or not!

There is no secret at all. They screen everyone and place all who qualify in a lottery. There is nothing to do unless you get a spot and need to decide whether to take it. There is no reason why your school would talk about it, as it is run by central office, not your school.
