But the plot of that movie is that Steve Carell's character is getting a divorce and going to start dating again so Ryan Gosling (whose character is considered a "player" who dates successfully but never settles down) helps him get ready for that.

Doug Emhoff is not on the dating market. He's not trying to impress women or get them into bed with him. He's not trying to rebuild his confidence after a divorce. He's not struggling. He's already living his best life which includes being the First Gentleman to a confident and successful political wife and spending time with his adult kids who seem pretty happy and well adjusted. He doesn't need a "glow up." He's doing great. All is as it should be.

jc, the Steve Carell character was mentioned as an example, used as an illustration, of a guy who looked much better with a haircut and better fashion choices.

Ohhhh I disagree! He needs to lose a little weight and go shopping. He could look quite sharp! He’s a little slouchy looking.

I bet if you tweeted to ask he'd respond!

Not everyone has to have Botox and veneers and a stylist and dye their hair and whatever. It's okay if people want to do that but it's also okay to exist in the world (and even be on TV!) and not do those things. To age normally and just wear clothes that feel familiar and comfortable and just be at peace with the way you look without having to fix it and improve it.

I would like more people like this in the public eye. Please give me all the Doug Emhoffs and Elizabeth Warrens and Bernie Sanders and whatnot. Aside from politics. I just think it's healthy for people to see regular people on TV who haven't been "glowed up" and are fine with it.

+1 Even removing all political stances, I'd rather have 100 Doug Emhoffs on TV than 100 Matt Gaetzes. Let people look like people.
