Same.

Same. We eat anything in the fridge or freezer. I don’t mind the taste ask of cooking, but it’s often omelets and stir fry to get through the food.

Interestingly I am the opposite- I feel a “need” to cook and cook healthily the week before a vacation, since I know we’ll be eating out and indulging while on vacation. I have chronic gi issues which probably influences my actions, since a week of eating out always does a number on me (even if I’m ordering salads etc).

Things like fried rice, stews, frittatas that can use up all the bits and pieces of vegetables.

If I happen to have more food or the time to cook more, it's nice to make a double meal and then freeze half so that the first full day back from vacation when we're tired of restaurant good and tired from travel and busy trying to catch up on work, we have a meal waiting for us to defrost.

I cook with whatever I have in the fridge.

No we don’t eat out at home before we are planning to eat out so much during vacation.

Cheese, crackers, fruit, sandwiches.

Anything that will go bad in the fridge. I also think the week before vacation is one of the best times to do a meal kit service.

I cook everything that will go bad. I'm going to house/dog-sit on Saturday for two weeks (not exactly a vacation, but I'll be away) and I'm trying to eat through all my produce and anything that'll go stale.

Tonight I had the last of my blueberries, shrimp and pasta, and cantaloupe. Tomorrow I'll eat my last leftover portion of chicken/tomatoes /ricotta/pasta, carrot sticks, cherries, etc.

I have been known to shove Gladware filled with fruit in my bag to bring with me, since I buy organic and it's expensive.

Extremely simple meals that don’t make leftovers — breakfast for dinner, grilled cheese and soup, quesadillas, etc. Then takeout the night before we leave so I’m not dealing with dishes.

I think it’s a psychological thing, since I’m already anticipating a week without having to think about or cook food, but I don’t even want to cook the before we leave for vacation next week.

Do you cook differently? I hate to just eat out, since we will be eating out while on vacation. But the thought of cooking is dreadful! (I am exaggerating but you know what I mean!)

We have a family dinner one day and eat out the night before so we can avoid dishes, but what about the other five nights? What do you do?
