Sleepovers are a bad idea, period. Stand your ground, and ignore.

I feel bad for her kid. Why does her kid have to suffer and be a pariah.
Might let my kid sleepover or stay super late so it’s almost like a sleepover.

No. She's begging because she knows she has lost the trust of other parents and she's unhappy about it. It is what it is though.

Absolutely not, but I don't do sleepovers anyway.

OP here. Right? The begging is pretty annoying. I have said firmly no for several years now and they keep asking. And to be fair I have not allowed my daughter to sleep over at any other friends home to manage this mom's feelings.

She has issues, perhaps unknown to you, if she is "begging" for this.

Probably. I don't really see how their drinking problem could harm my kid. I'd ask my kid to let me know if she is drinking and to be safe, I'd volunteer to drive the kids if needed to ensure she's not driving them while under the influence.

Would you allow your child to sleep over at the house of a neighbor that formerly had a drinking problem so bad that the entire neighborhood knows about it? She says she is now sober for over 5 years and is always begging to allow my kid to sleep over.
