What happened to u10-u13. Neither Herndon or AC Milan has teams in those ages. If anyone left they would make another club's 3rd or 4th teams. They didn't all go to AC.

This. I know kids playing in this age group at Herndon; but not well enough to be able to contact them and ask. I feel bad for the kids if they have no team.

Exactly. That's a big deal.

Twice, in four years!

AC Milan only has 4 girls teams so must not have been a huge following.

Did the coaches leave with the players as well? We've played Herndon in the past and always thought the coaching was good

I'm not sure there is a short version of the story, honestly. Probably goes back to a previous Executive Director, or whatever her title was, but when she left/retired they hired GA (who is now at DCSC in the same role). There was a conflict with the two companies providing most of the coaches (Arzani Soccer and Total Futbol) as a result of new policies from GA and the board. Many of the girls teams followed TF when they left to form DMV FC (which has now been absorbed by GFRSC). GA tried to rebuild the girls program with JD as girls director, but both left shortly after (JD to DCSC). HM from Arlington came in the next year as coach and girls director, but he is also now gone.

I'm not assigning blame to GA and I honestly don't know for certain why he left. Just putting out some semblance of a timeline.

So much churn and chaos. I know of a few board members who have daughters that play at other clubs as a result.

The boys program is in better shape, a decent pipeline to VDA for their "stars", for example. They play ECNL-RL and were fairly successful last year (mid table or better, generally, save maybe the 09s). But the girls program is a mess, sadly (full disclosure, my DD's came up in Herndon Rec and played for HYS as well).

What happened to Herndon's girl's travel program? They only have two NCSL girl teams for the fall listed that are u16 and u19... We were told at tryouts they had at least one girl's team for u-9 and up and were forming a few second teams. We didn't accept the offer, thankfully, but I'm shocked and wondering what happened.
