Alison Roman’s strawberry cake is so good and easy to make. Double the recipe and use a Bundt pan and confectioner’s sugar to top.

I have a couple potlucks coming up and would love to make something fun.

Strawberry pie or individual strawberry pie "tarts" - whipped cream on top optional.
Always a hit because nobody makes strawberry pie anymore.
And easy.
And you can control sugar - doesn't have to be high sugar.

This is true- and you can't find rhubarb at all these days.

Bacardi Rum Cake is a delicious bundt cake that is always a hit. You can make it from a box mix or scratch.

ooh there's something about the bundt shape where the outside is a bit crisp and caramelized and the inside is a bit pudding-y. A good poundcake recipe will do that and you coat the pan in sugar....

And this triple chocolate bundt is one of my favourite of all the chocolate cakes I’ve made as part of my the project.

My grandma used to make a chocolate booze cake that I really liked and it was made in a bundt pan.

Love key lime pie, but I don’t think that is well suited for a potluck. It needs to stay cold until serving.

Nanaimo bars are so good and don't require turning on the oven. I have used used the NYT recipe in the past--there are several out there that vary a little bit

I'm the woman baking through the list of 55 Vintage Cakes - so I have lots of recommendations. Name what type of cakes interest you (layer cakes, sheet cakes, no-bake/icebox cakes, bundt cakes, chocolate cakes, lemon cakes?) and I've got a recipe (or more than one) for you!
