State trooper would be better than a rent a cop who had a gun and an attitude.

My BIL is a narcotics detective and the most conscientious neighbor in the tract. Keeps his property nice and is always there to help out.

Adding, I absolutely scope out future neighbors (did a lot of that when we bought) but the state trooper thing wouldn’t have been the reason

Disagreements would be solved legally. They aren't above the law (despite one off news reports otherwise).

Something I did not take into consideration would be any disagreements with the Trooper and if you and State Trooper neighbor did not get along, it could be more trouble than you could dream up.

It could be the safest home to buy or the most dangerous one.
