Look at the candies. They have some with natural colorings instead of artificial dyes.

We're French and we loved Quebec. But we didn't really go for the food. More for the ambience, the friendly people, the accent

Ketchup chips
All dressed chips
O'henry chocolate bar
Coffee crisp chocolate bar

For restaurant type food:
Definitely try poutine, beaver tails, smoked meat sammich, tourtiere, tarte au sucre. If you're going in the winter go to a sugar shack (SO FUN!) - they lay out snow/ice and pour maple syrup over it in a long line, put a stick in it and roll it up like a maple lollypop.

Nomnomnom. So much delicious food!

• ketchup chips
• Caesars and their main ingredient that differentiates them from a Bloody Mary, Clamato juice

I love these. The chocolate is so much better tasting than m&m s.

My friend likes a grocery store cookie that has a wafer cookie base, then a big round marshmallow on top, fully enrobed by chocolate.

Some Kellogg's cereals are made different there.

Go to McDonalds and try to order a Happy Meal. It's called a Joyeux Festin (jwayoo festan). Minored in French in college and couldn't figure that one out.

There's a lot of British influence in the grocery store. Maybe pick out some tea.

Have fun!

Exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for! Thank you!!!

Spending 36 hours in Montreal. Any fun food, candy or drink items to try? Not like poutine or Montreal bagels but more like grocery store items.

I know it’s barely international but haven’t been to Canada since I was a kid and like trying new things. I also weirdly want to go to Canadian Tire just to say I went.
