I’ve done 6 different trips with them to Africa; all included at least a week of safari. You will not be disappointed.

If you are asking about A&K, I paid $19,000 (includes balloon trip, single supplement and one day in Nairobi alone with an A&K driver. Masai Mara and the Serengeti. 12 days.

DP - please do, we are looking at one with them also! Have a great time. Everyone I know says it is life changing.

I went on safari with Abercrombie and Kent to South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. OK, it was 25 years ago, but it was very good then and I’ll bet it is still very good now. Hard to go wrong with A&K and Tauck (with whom I went to Australia).

Pp here who recommended savanna safaris.
I just looked at some of the pricing of aforementioned tour providers and am aghast by the prices. Totally outrageous.
Do yourself a favor and go with a local company.
Happy to post our itinerary and pricing. We stayed in top lodging and also had a tracker and driver for just the two of us in Okavango, all off road.

We went with our kids roughly the same ages as yours last year. We used Mango African Safaris as our tour organizer and went to Tanzania. Wonderful trip. Started in Arusha and stayed at Legendary Lodge to get over jet lag for a day or two. Then to Chem Chem for a few days, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for two days, and then to the Serengeti. In the Serengeti we stayed at Lamai Serengeti and then Singita Faru Faru. All accommodations were outstanding. Every safari was completely private, just us and no one else in our vehicle. And we saw the Big 5 and more many times over and very close up. The key is to get to those places like Singits that are on private reserves where the guides can go off road.

Botswana- we used local Gaborone company, which also does all travel for UPenn-Botswana program. They visit every single provider.
Prices were substantially lower, in fact so low that I actually called one of the hotels to confirm they had our reservation.
Everything went without a hitch with all transfers, excursions, flight to/from Okavango etc included
Itinerary was two camps in Okovango Delta, Kobe, Victoria Falls.

Easy Travel & Tours in Tanzania was great. https://www.easytravel.co.tz/

The hotels were all what we’d consider 3/4 star; they recommended them to us in each location, and we would sign off on them. We then went on to Zanzibar on our own and didn’t do a tour there, which I’d recommend.

Micato is upscale and well-regarded. Tauck also offers safaris and is a reliable operator.

We are interested but companies seem all over the place in terms of price. In our 50s, kids in 20s.

Which company did you use? Ballpark price? Where did you go? What were accommodations like?
