Maybe I'm getting different targeted ads, but I also think of it as a well to get rid of stuff that is too big to mail (=sell on ebay). I outfitted my guest room (bed frame, SleepNumber bed, duvet in discontinued print that I love) from FB marketplace.

Considering that the powers that be are just letting these people walk out of CVS with carts full of stuff and don’t do a single thing about it at the time, I doubt they’re going to do anything to catch the people in a bust later.
The cops don’t bother arresting at the time because the prosecutors just let them off.
And yes, it’s outrageous.

DC policy is to allow street vendors who do not need licenses and aren't subject to any regulations. It's technically illegal to sell stolen goods but not really feasible trying to prove the CVS branded shampoo is actually stolen. But not possible to otherwise shut them down.
