Contact the school to let them know you are leaving and if possible where you are going. It will help you get records to the new school easier.

Elementary school administrative secretaries and principal/ap work over the summer. Attendance secretaries work a few days, but if you let the principal or their secretary know, either the admin secretary will take care of it, or they will have everything ready for the attendance secretary (registrar) so they can handle it quickly when they come in.

If you don't tell them, you will be automatically unenrolled after the first 10 days of school. This makes things harder for the school and may make it harder for you when you go to enroll over seas.

School offices are open. We just enrolled for K.

Yes, the registrar is usually the attendance secretary.

Correct and the school should be notified so they can plan classes, etc.

The principal, vice principal and the secretary work over the summer so I would contact all of them. Kids withdraw over the summer all the time since that's a common time when people move. And yes, it is a good thing to tell the school that you're withdrawing because that does impact their enrollment numbers/class lists

Its true that you should speak to your specific school registrar. You may need to chase them up, depending on how helpful they are.

No, that's not right. You do need to inform your school's registrar that your child is withdrawing and moving to a new school district.

Contact your school’s registrar. Their info should be on the website of your school. The can help walk you though it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you do this through the school itself (not some MCPS admin office).

If you can’t reach anyone send an email to counseling. You may not get a quick response but you should get one in a day or two.

Someone would still be working at the school over the summer. I would call the main office.

We are moving internationally for a couple years and need to withdraw our kids from their MCPS school (elementary). Sorry if this is a dumb question but for some reason I cannot find info on how to do this on the MCPS website. Since it's the summer, no one is working at the school so I can't call. Any tips? We expect to re-enroll them in MCPS when we return, not sure if that matters.
