We would fly into Las Vegas (it’s exponentially cheaper than flying into Phoenix)...

We're doing almost the exact same thing in a couple of weeks (yes, I know, August is HOT, but it's the only time my college kid and high schooler had available) and out flight from LAS to IAD was twice as much as our flight from IAD to PHX. We're flying to Phoenix, staying in Sedona five nights, driving to Vegas, staying three nights and flying out of Vegas.

Phoenix in June would be HOT. Besides the pool you probably won't be able to do anything else. Sedona is higher elevation and will be much more comfortable.

On your way out of Vegas, I'd go to Valley of Fire State Park: there are petroglyphs there within very easy access, it's gorgeous and very few people go there.

We will have seven total days (arriving on day 1, leaving on day 7)

We are two adults, one 13yo

The trip will be in early June

We are adventurous, enjoy casual hiking, but also really enjoy relaxing at a resort with a nice pool.

We would fly into Las Vegas (it’s exponentially cheaper than flying into Phoenix), rent a car, and visit the Hoover Dam on our way to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, where we would spend two nights at one of the lodges inside the park. From there?

Everyone recommends Sedona, but some say the resorts in Phoenix would be more of what we are looking for as far as relaxing at a resort.

Please, give me all of your resort recommendations, sights to see, places to visit. We don’t mind jumping around every couple days, if we have to, but staying one place after the GC would be ideal.
