NP

I’m not really a loyalist when it comes to beer, but I do enjoy Troegs, Williamsburg Alewerks, Starr Hill, and Great Lakes Brewery for some decently priced, and lower ABV IPA’s. I recently discovered 4-packs of Parkway Brewing Co. Grapefruit IPA going for $9.99 at Wegman’s, but the ABV is 7.2%, so I nurse one pint over the course of a few hours.

My man, if you're sipping on 5-6 beers a week the difference between a week's worth of Miller Lite and a week's worth of Partly Cloudy is like $12.

I understand wanting to save money but if you're in a position where $12 a week is make-or-break for you then you shouldn't be spending any money at all on beer.

Just drink what you like, it's $1.71 a day we're talking about. Assuming you're not in abject poverty you're never going to notice the difference when you look at your statements every month. Worrying about that kind of chump change is neurotic bordering on pathologic.

Beware “hazy” IPAs. That’s just lazy brewing that didn’t finish the job.

My DH is an IPA nut but for casual weeknight drinking tends to go for local brewery pale ales as ipas can be pretty high abv.

The best ipas I’ve found locally are going to be from Other Half, Bluejacket, sapwood cellars, elder pine or the veil. These aren’t going to be the cheapest beers but they are worth it if it’s just an occasional indulgence. Use an app like Untappd to make sure you are getting a high ranked one before you purchase because all breweries have some stinkers that aren’t worth your money. Of the cheaper ipas you can find at most stores I enjoy Jai Alai and dogfish 60 min. Other ones you can usually find at stores which are highly ranked are ballast point sculpin and Maine lunch.

I'm an IPA nut and there's too many to choose from to say what's the "best".
I am a bargain conscious IPA drinker, so I tend to the lower end of the $ scale when purchasing.
Try different ones out till you find some that you like.
And you can also see the % ABV, so beware of ones like "The Truth", which is very good tasting, and a decent price, but it's 8.7% ABV, so a couple of those are usually enough to make me say "No mas!"

I used to drink Miller Lite religiously for 30 years because it was inexpensive and I liked it. Varied in price over the years and, currently, it's like $28 for 36 cans at Costco. But about a year ago, I started drinking IPAs and I just love beers like Solace Partly Cloudy or Bells Two Hearted Ale but it's like $3/can compared to less than a dollar a can for Miller Lite. I'm one of those drinkers that like to have a beer or two when grilling. I haven't been drunk in memory. I just like to sip on 5-6 beers a week but don't like to spend a lot of money. What's the best IPA out there for the money. Thanks.
