The money is in her campaign fund, it's being spent. If the FEC ever does anything it won't be until after the election. Most likely outcome, a 3-3 vote, vote fails, no action taken.

None of this matters. File the lawsuit in Waco. Trump judge issues nationwide injunction against spending the money. Fifth Circuit affirms, SCOTUS takes its time deliberating while leaving the injunction in place. Harris goes bankrupt. Trump wins.

It does matter. There is no standing. The FEC transferred the money. There is nothing to enjoin. Although I gotta say— “we can do nothing because our Judge is Waco will rubber stamp it and so will SCOTUS” is exactly why people are so excited to vote for not Trump. “our pet judge in Tx will impose any nationwide law we want and SCOTUS won’t stop him”. Do you hear yourself.

If this happens, which is really quite possible given what we have seen judges do lately, it would be really, really wild.

It would also hand Kamala the win. Oddly, authoritarianism isn’t a winning platform.

I hope you are right- I think people don’t seem to understand how serious this is and how far judges are overreaching.

It does say in forbes that any lawsuit would not be settled until after the election.

Forbes is wrong. The courts can do anything they want as quickly as they want. So they can quickly issue the emergency injunction freezing the money. The courts can then leave it in place while they drag their feet on the substantive issue of whether Harris can use the money. Winning!

Too late!

But if that's your plan, talk about weaponizing the justice system!

Anyway, she got $81 million in the last 24 hours, and if a conservative judge tried to freeze Biden's money the donors would refill her coffers in a day or two.

Perhaps some “official act” would suffice?

They won't have any standing for a lawsuit or injunction if they aren't going through the FEC's process.

Listen up. Ending the Democrat Party once and for all is well worth ignoring standing and looking corrupt.

“Ignoring the law is worth it to establish authoritarian rule”. You think this is a winning position in America?

If there is a statutory requirement that the complaint go through the agency first the entity cannot sue. I am not sure about federal election law but I work in an agency with a similar requirement.

And the FEC, which is 3-3 R/D (ie deadlocked) has 120 days to make a decision. Which it can’t. Because deadlocked. And 120 from now is… too late to matter.

Its already done. There is nothing to sue or anything. Money is already in Harris's hands.

But by all means, please spend the time and money suing.

Haley encouraged her delegates to vote for Trump.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who unsuccessfully ran for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, is releasing all 97 of her delegates and encouraging them to support former President Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next week, a spokeswoman for Haley tells NPR.

Haley's encouragement to RNC delegates to back Trump was first reported by Politico.

No need for any more BS on these subjects. Thanks for the addition. I think Jeff should create a sticky with these basic truths that we can point trolls to—give them a chance to understand and then he can boot them.

There's no debate about this, it's already gone through with the FEC which is the body which would regulate this:
