I loved the idea and found it really intriguing and imaginative…for a while. I couldn’t get through it though.

I really liked it. Like all stream of consciousness, you have to give in to it.

There’s a parallel story of an American lioness that I didn’t get at first, but that pulls together with the narrator’s life story by the end. The narrator is a mother with midwestern roots and I’m from the same general area, so this really worked for me.

I did have a hard time figuring out the timeline and some of the mental chatter gets annoying. But I thought it was innovative and memorable and I’m glad I read it. Really different than a lot of what gets published these days.

I've heard it's a literary masterpiece but I've yet to tackle this tome. Be curious to hear from people who have read it.
