Also, its probably a good idea that we, for all things, not just minor traffic stuff, hire a force of "Police". And let the actual police deal with more serious matters like violent crime.

"Police" could do traffic work, shoplifting, minor property crimes, drunks, etc and have LEO cred but just have a limit to their duties and their training needs.

Sort of like when you go to the doctor and the NP or PA walks in. They can summon the MD if needed, but they can also handle lots of things just fine themselves.

The one that hacks me off is license plate violators. Obviously illegal covers on plate, tags many months out of date (MD).. I feel like if I did that, I'd get pulled over right now. And the dark tag cover crowd skews UMC/rich as much anything from my observations.

Then just come up with a system that only checks white people. Problem solved.

It’s not “can” they do both, it’s “should”. Enforcing minor infractions is just not cost effective. You would have to hire many more officers to crack down on some of these tick-tacky violations.

I am I agreement though about stop signs…especially in neighborhoods. No one stops at them. There needs to be creative solutions there. Maybe a speed bump at all signs? When we went to Iceland, some stop signs and speed limits were regulated by cement curbs in road. You had to slow down in order to navigate road.

This is why.

Personally I’d rather just deal with the bad driver behavior than having riots every summer because cops shot a guy who pulled a knife or a gun on them when they pulled him over for running a stop sign, and then everyone gets mad, marches, protests, riots and loots.

Traffic enforcement is racist.

No one stops their cars at stop signs - they use them as suggestions. I am always throwing my arms up at cars when I am a pedestrian.

They don't stop at the stop sign line, instead they stop over the line in the crosswalk.

Illegal tints.

Illegal cell phone usage.

Lack of turn signals.

Excessive speeding.

Police don't do much to make the road safer. I rarely even see police cars, and if I do, they are traveling to/from the station and don't enforce the law. What is the county/state/country doing to make our roads safe?
